The Art of Breathing combines the work of FM Alexander, the founder of The Alexander Technique, and Carl Stough, who revolutionized the treatment of emphysema patients and helped train Olympic athletes to perform at high altitude, as synthesized by my colleague Jessica Wolf. I studied with Carl Stough and graduated from Jessica's one-year program. The Art of Breathing addresses the fundamental act of breathing by strengthening the diaphragm, the primary muscle of respiration. This, in turn, frees your rib cage, neck and voice, delivers more oxygen to all organs, including your brain, and improves your ability to use your voice and your general health.
